February 2008
The Conservatory of Performing Arts Pipe Band competed at the Winnipeg Scottish Festival on February 16th. The band won the "Best Youth Band of the Day" award, as well as a 3rd prize finish of seven bands in each of the two Grade 4 band events. As well, many members came home with solo prizes and awards from the Games. AND...it was a great weekend of fun: nice hotel, pool, pizzas, a ceilidh, and late-night movies. Not bad.
Band members once again had an excellent weekend at the Games, with many solo prizes and several aggregates in piping and drumming, and again winning the Saskatchewan Pipe Band Championship as the highest placing Saskatchewan Grade 4 band across the two days.
